Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health (FRESH) strives to inspire and promote healthy, balanced choices in our local schools and community. The goal is to have a positive impact through exciting programs like FRESH Eats, FRESH Moves, and FRESH Reads that focus on nutrition, movement, and literacy enrichment.
Today, FRESH is excited to announce the newest program, FRESH on Wheels, that travels the county highlighting Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) staff who are inspiring and promoting healthy choices in our schools and community. These extraordinary individuals are truly impacting the school community by going above and beyond every day. FRESH wants to recognize staff who are inspiring others by presenting them with a Certificate of Appreciation and a t-shirt bearing the new FRESH logo as a “thank you!”
Do you know of someone making a difference in a school by promoting physical activity and healthy eating? Do your children share stories of a teacher who regularly gets them out of their seat to stretch and move throughout the day? Or maybe there is a school nutrition staff member who has encouraged your children to try a new menu item? If so, FRESH wants to hear from you!
To nominate an FCPS staff member to be the recipient of a new FRESH t-shirt and wellness certificate, please email the FRESH team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include the person’s full name, school location, and how they are inspiring others to be healthy.
“It has been a tough year for many staff and families,” said Kristen McAuliffe, FRESH Supervisor. “Our team hopes to spread a little cheer by recognizing others who are helping us promote the mission of the FRESH program.”
Be on the lookout for people wearing the new FRESH t-shirts throughout Fauquier County and say “thank you” to recognize their commitment to promoting health and wellness in our school community.
If you are interested in sharing your own commitment to the health and wellness of our community, please consider volunteering with FRESH this summer and get your own t-shirt! For more information, visit the FRESH website at https://www.fauquierfresh.org/volunteer.
