BBQ Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tbsp. molasses

  • 3 tbsp. honey

  • 3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tsp. smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1 tsp. onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

You will also need:

  • Chicken 8-10 pieces

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan add all wet ingredients and whisk well to combine.

  2. Add all dry ingredients to BBQ mixture and whisk to prevent clumping.

  3. Set burner to medium heat; simmer for 15-20 minutes or at least thick enough to coat a spoon.

  4. Evenly split BBQ sauce into 3 bowls. Using bowl one, glaze chicken before baking.

  5. Glaze again using the second bowl of BBQ between baking time.

  6. Bake chicken at 375°F for 20 minutes or until the chicken's internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  7. Before serving, use the last bowl of BBQ and a CLEAN BRUSH OR SPOON to add a final layer of flavor to your chicken.

Variations

  • Use 1-2 tbsp. rice syrup or date syrup and 1/8-1/4 cup brown sugar instead of molasses and honey

  • Use 1 cup raisins or 1 cup of pitted dates (soaked in hot water until soft) instead of molasses and honey
