Grilled Pineapple

Method to make as much as you'd like







Ingredients

  • Pineapple, wedged

  • Chili powder

  • Lime, grilled and quartered


Directions

  1. Rinse and scrub the outer layer of the pineapple with water and white vinegar. *Washing the outside of a pineapple before eating is very important as it lessens the chances of dirt and bacteria transferring from the knife into the fruit or vegetable when cutting*

  2. Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple, creating a stable base.

  3. Remove the rind in curved cuts from the top of the pineapple to the bottom.

  4. Cut around the pineapple core making wedges and slabs.

  5. Make each slab into a wedge and skewer each wedge with a stick of your choosing.

  6. Grill pineapple wedges and quartered limes on high until the they start to brown.

  7. Top off each wedge with chili powder and a squeeze of grilled lime to taste.


Seasoning combination alternatives

  • Avocado oil, lime juice, honey or maple syrup, sea salt, chili powder

  • Sesame oil, hot sauce, lime juice, cinnamon, cilantro

  • Sesame oil, hot sauce, and lime juice

  • Brown Sugar, butter melted, cinnamon
